Fully skirted bases are ideal for studio environments, where items such as cables and scenery could potentially interfere with the wheels of the pedestal.
The height of the base can be raised when the pedestal is moved out of the studio, and lowered on to the ground to park the pedestal.
Pedestals for Outside Broadcasts do not feature fully skirted bases because they require extra ground clearance.
